RECENT LEAFLET DROP IN THE AREA
You may have recently received a leaflet in the Post from Pharmacy2U.
Here are some important facts about Pharmacy2U which we feel you should know:
Pharmacy2U has nothing to do with Brannel Surgery - we do NOT use the Electronic Prescription Service
Pharmacy2U is a distance selling (internet only) pharmacy based, based on an industrial estate
In October 2015, Pharmacy2U was fined £130,000 for selling its patients details to marketing companies including the Australian lottery. The Information Commissioners Office subsequently found that this data was used by the marketing companies to deliberately target elderly and vulnerable patients
Over Christmas 2015, Pharmacy2U failed to send out prescriptions for THREE weeks, leaving thousands of patients without their essential medicines
Also as a patient you cannot have any face-to-face contact with Pharmacy2U, unlike when you visit the Surgery where you can speak to the Qualified Dispensary Team
Please support us to continue caring for you and your family by choosing your
local Brannel Surgery to obtain your Prescriptions
**Did you know we offer Delivery Service to your door however you need to be at home to sign for the delivery**
The following document contains all the information you need about our Dispensary and Prescription ordering process.
Brannel Surgery Dispensary Information
Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:
- In person - drop your repeat slip in at reception having clearly marked the items required.
- By post - send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
- By fax - to 01726 824450.
- Online - via the link at the top of this page. First-time users are required to complete a simple registration.
- By Email - please use email@example.com
Please note we are not able to accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.
We are able to dispense prescriptions to patients living more than a mile from the nearest chemist. This unfortunately excludes patients who may be registered with us on the now withdrawn, out of area registration scheme.
The practice operates a strict 28 day prescribing policy.
Collection of Controlled Drugs
Controlled drugs are dispensed at the time of collection and require two qualified dispensers to be present. Therefore, the collection of controlled drugs is only possible between 9am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm each Monday to Friday.
We can also offer a home delivery service to dispensing patients who are housebound or may have difficulty with collecting from the Surgery. Please note that you will be required to sign for medication when it is delivered. Delivery is only on Friday mornings.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
